'Dangerous' Sex Offenders Can Be Imprisoned Indefinitely, Supreme Court Rules

On a 7-2 vote the U.S. Supreme Court ruled yesterday that sex offenders may be indefinitely imprisoned if the offender "currently 'suffers from a serious mental illness, abnormality, or disorder' and who 'as a result of' that mental illness, abnormality, or disorder is 'sexually dangerous to others' in that 'he would have serious difficulty in refraining from sexually violent conduct or child molestation if released.'"
