Kelsey Smith Act Signed Into Law by Minnesota Gov. Pawlenty

On Thursday afternoon (5/13/10), Governor Pawlenty signed the Kelsey Smith Act into law for the State of Minnesota. Minnesota is now the third state to have this life saving law. We appreciate the efforts of Rep. Sheldon and Senator Prettner Solon for sponsoring and working to get the law passed.

Missouri Kelsey Smith Act Update

The conference report on SB 829 with the omnibus crime bill and the Kelsey Smith Act in it did not pass the Senate. They took it up and a Senator threatened to filibuster due to another provision unrelated to the Kelsey Smith Act, so they laid it over, so we will have to try again next year. Thank you to all those who worked so hard to pass the bill.
